My Aura Hot Tub has had a leaking problem almost from the start, which did not show up until enough damage was done, which was after the warranty had run out. Because of the cost involved in having the dealer transport the tub to their shop, I elected to repair it myself.

After draining and raising the tub off the ground, struggling to remove the foam insulation, I was shocked to find of the leaks came from a fitting that had no glue applied to it all and it easily pulled apart. Other leaks, there been six so far, were from the joints where flexible tubing with ridges went into a hard PVC fitting. In other words the uneven surface of the tubing was intended to make a water tight bond inside the PVC fitting, having to rely of PVC cement to fill the void of the mismatched surfaces.

PVC cement is not intended to be a filler. This is a really *** way to save a few bucks in manufacturing. It blows my mind that for several thousand dollars, Dimension One is unable to make plumbing joints that will work for decades. It is not rocket science, it is basic plumbing, ask any plumber.

I have also had to replace two circulator pumps over seven years, which is not too far out, but the cost of the pumps is more than double what a similar pump for a heating system costs. EVERY part cost more than double what they should. Which reminds me, if you need a new cover, go after market. I got a better made one, thicker and more vinyl than the one that comes from D1 for a lot less.

When the tub is not leaking, the electronics are functioning, I really enjoy my tub.

I also stopped using D1 products for water treatment, and now use Clear Choice Spa Drops. I hated using the harsh chemicals recommended by D1, and after checking the internet I found Clear Choice. I was skeptical that 15 drops of their enzyme product could treat my 450 gallon tub. After using CC for over six months, the water is excellent and the filters require a lot less rinsing, plus it costs a lot less.

The Natural Enzyme is one of the main problems for failure. I have seen it with other spas and Dimension One Spas does not recommend HARSH CHEMICALS, it recommends SODIUM DI-CHLOR (Tablespoon 3 x per week) and a VISION CARTRIDGE (Minerals) for 6 Months.

If you were doing something else before the Enzyme, this could have caused the problem. Sorry.
